Management Interface

The CyberEdge management user interface is used by system administrators to manage the CyberEdge. It is strongly advised that the management interface is exposed to trusted networks only. The default CyberEdge management user interface is accessible on https://192.168.100. or https://localnetwork.zone/. Please refer to your specific product documentation for the physical port reference and default login credentials.

Securing the Management Interface

The CyberEdge utilises Access Control Lists (ACL) to manage accessibility to the CyberEdge management user interface. To configure access navigate to:

  1. System > General > Management Interface Access
  2. Implement the required configuration option:
    • Custom Port: Used to serve CyberEdge management user interface on a specified port. (default Port 443)
    • Allow Networks: Networks permitted to access the CyberEdge management user interface
    • Allowed Network Zones: Network Zones permitted to access the CyberEdge management user interface
    • Custom Domains: Custom domain to be used by the CyberEdge management user interface.(eg. https://fw01.network.systems)
    • SSL Certificate: The SSL certificate for the management interface custom domain. If multiple domain names are being used, these must be included in the certificate's subjectAltName field
    • HSTS: The max age of the strict transport security header. Start with a small value and increase over time or set to zero to force the browser to disregard the previous value (default: Do not send the HSTS header)
  3. Click "Save"
  4. Click "Save" and "Apply changes"

Important information

  • The CyberEdge management user interface is always available from the management connection and cannot be disabled
  • The Reporting and LiveZone web applications are served from a secure container environment hosted on the CyberEdge, separate from the CyberEdge management user interface. Consequently, each web application requires its own access control management. To manage access to the Reporting application, navigate to Reporting > General. To manage access to the LiveZone application, go to LiveZone > General. By default, access to the web applications is set to "deny all."

Security

It is strongly recommended to avoid exposing the CyberEdge management user interface to the Internet Zone or any network that does not require system administration access.
