Flush Authentication Cache

Flushing the authentication group cache is an important maintenance operation in systems that rely on group-based authentication. This process clears the cached user / group memberships, forcing the CyberEdge to retrieve fresh data upon the next authentication attempt. Flushing the CyberEdge Authentication Cache manually may be necessary when changes are made to user roles or permissions that are required to take effect immediately, without waiting for the cache to expire naturally. This is especially relevant in environments where access controls need to be updated for security reasons. The default group cache is 30 Minutes.

To flush the CyberEdge Authentication cache navigate to;

  1. Authentication > Flush Auth Caches
  2. Identify and select the group or groups you wish to flush
  3. Click "Flush Selected Groups"

The relevant group cache will be flushed immediately.

Warning

Flushing the authentication group cache may affect user sessions. The impact of rebuilding the cache can vary based on the size and structure of your directory service (such as the use of nested groups), the directory service's performance, and the number of tracked groups configured in the CyberEdge. It is recommended to clear the cache for a specific group only when necessary or to wait for the automated cache refresh to complete.
